Arthritis Research UK celebrate fellowship holders

The work of past andpresent fellowship award holders was celebrated recently at the ArthritisResearch UK Annual Fellows' Meeting, held on 19–20 March in Loughborough.

The event showcasedpresentations and posters on the fellows’ work, with prizes being awarded forthe best oral and poster presentations. This year's winners were announced as:

  • Best Oral Presentation (PhD Student) – Georgia McDonald
  • Best Oral Presentation (Fellow) – Dr Myles Lewis
  • Best Poster (PhD Student) – Matthew Elder
  • Best Poster (Summer Studentship) – Peter Orton

It also gave juniorresearchers an excellent chance to network with senior and past fellowshipholders, as well as members of the Fellowshipimplementation committee.

Professor Patrick Maxwell,Regius Professor of Physic and Head of the School of Clinical Medicine of theUniversity of Cambridge, shared his career highlights, tips and advice in hiskeynote speech, “Lessons from an unplanned research career”.
