Centre interns make a start

On Monday 6 July 2015, 8 Centre and 3 value added interns quietly gathered at The Institute of Sport Exercise and Health (ISEH) for the first day of their summer internships. Dr Tony Redmond, Dr Akbar de'Medici and Bruce Paton lead the day.

Following an introduction to ISEH and the Centre, the interns were thrown into the world of research as they covered topics including understanding the internship, goal setting, project write up, dissemination, career opportunities and Patient and Public Involvement

Dr Mike Loosemore delivered a fascinating talk on his work with elite sports teams and the changing face of public health.

The interns will meet up again at five of the Centre's partner universities over the next month, finishing with the dissemination of their work at the University of Oxford in September.
