Prestigious NIHR Career Development Fellowship awarded to Dr Cathy Bowen

Dr Cathy Bowen has been awarded a prestigious NIHR Career Development Fellowship, starting this December for four years.  This is a highly competitive Fellowship and Cathy is the first podiatrist ever to be awarded an NIHR Fellowship at this level.

The Fellowship will allow Cathy to lead research and development for foot and ankle research within the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Southampton, and also the UK podiatry profession. Her main project will be to lead a UK-wide research programme of work investigating ‘the optimisation of foot care for people with arthritis’.
