Arthritis Research UK Centre for Sport, Exercise and Osteoarthritis Conference: Physical Activity and Osteoarthritis

We are very pleased to announce the Arthritis Research UK Centre for Sport, Exercise and Osteoarthritis Conference 2015: Physical Activity and OA will take place on 17th December 2015 at Loughborough University. The conference is hosted by Arthritis Research UK Centre for Sport, Exercise and Osteoarthritis and the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine (NCSEM-England). This conference will offer opportunities for researchers in the field of Physical Activity and Osteoarthritis research to meet, present and discuss their work.
Key Themes
The key themes of the conference are, but not limited to, Physical Activity promotion, Physical Activity and Musculoskeletal Health, Exercise and Osteoarthritis, Injury Consequence, Reducing Risk of Injury and Rehabilitation.
Conference Aims and Themes
The conference aims to raise awareness of Musculoskeletal health as a lever for individual and population health and wellness. The 2014 Arthritis Research UK publication Musculoskeletal Health – A public health approach sets out a life-course approach to preserving musculoskeletal health. This conference builds on this initiative and the work of The Arthritis Research UK Centre Sport, Exercise and Osteoarthritis. It will explore the relationship between physical activity (of all types), joint pain and osteoarthritis. Specifically:
• National physical activity guidance and barriers/levers to uptake
• Physical Activity, Exercise, Sport and Osteoarthritis
• Physical activity interventions for arthritis
• Sport and injury prevention and health promotion
